Self Assembly rib cockpit - has anyone seen used this yet?

Hi, i saw an advert for these yesterday on gumtree and contacted them. "Rib Shield" Its a new product from a UK manufacturer. A self assembly flatpack cockpit. They said its specifically designed for ribs only and is grp, easy to fit together etc... They're launching it next month and is £1,500. I'm considering it and wondering has anyone else seen it or spoken to them?

Looks interesting, would want to know a bit more about the way its put together and what its made of. Would assume self assembly means that the various components will be held together with brackets of some description ?

I asked the same questions yesterday Chris. It's fully grp and comes in 4 panels (2 sides, front and roof) Said it comes with all fittings required and can be assembled in less than an hour.

Does it fit over the existing console or do you need to remove and transfer everything across...?

Who Makes it ?

It fits over the existing console. Here's the advert Chris.

Screwed/fixed to the floor they said Xk59D. Pre-bored holes. Posted the advert in previous reply.

Not sure about GRP panels being held together like they show. I would be concerned about flexing and strength.

Still, a nice idea if it works.

Looks like an interesting idea, not sure about the 1 size fits all though. Keep us posted if you buy one.

I thought the same. Apparently it comes in a few widths and heights. I needed to give them the dimensions of the console. It would certainly be less than my quote of over £4k last year for a bespoke one. Haven't seen anything else out there to compare it to. Not sure if anyone else has.

I've been to see them as they're not far from me in Monmouthshire. Nice little operation. Boat builders and bespoke cabins which looked a nice quality. the RibShield is new low priced product they are launching in March. I saw a completed final product and it looks great, robust etc... they recon they can make the design to fit around any existing console. Not officially for sale until March although I have already agreed my one for my Valliant pt750. The owners email is jameshiggins@ribshield.com

"Pete" is it not fair to say you know more about this than you are letting on?
Perhaps you can PM me the full story and we'll allow Ribshield to upgrade to trade membership and keep posting?

Just had a look at the gumtree advert and now confused , drawings show one product and photos mislead you as they look like a different product
