Reckon your best bet might be to speak to someone that does re-tubing, see if they've got a little offcut you can use.

How big is that hole in the stern? looks quite big. Might be an idea to have an aluminium top hat made that bolts to the transom and the hyperlon then fits over that in the normal way with clips and glue.

I have some hyperlon in me garage if you want a piece, its burried under a wind surfer that needs collecting

Pete

You should also be able to get a pre-made ‘top hat’ like what Pete7 is describing (good idea by the way ). I think they are called tank flanges or something and are designed for irrigation systems, made from plastic so won’t rot and a about a £10. Des

Why not just buy the fitting from Avon. It's alot easier...

This is what I used, a bit of 110mm waste pipe through the transom, with the layflat tube jubilee clipped around it. Works great

are self drainers really necessary for slight offshore use?

Not always but when you do need them they are great
The alternative, when you have a boat full of water, is to stop and bail but because you are stopped you tend to get just as much water in as you are bailing out With self-bailers you can keep motoring into the waves while the boat is baling itself Des

If not, then are RIBs really necessary for light inshore use?
