Serious help needed
I want an A frame, I need an A frame, it's a must.
But what do I tell her that must be obeyed, why it's so important.
I need A frame exuses, all welcome.
Now how much should I be paying and who to?
The first quote I have had is £500, that sounds alot to me for 12' of stainless tube.

Tell her it is a clothing rail for hanging garments n stuff; the cost can then be justified to near ridiculous levels, the profit margin on womens shoes is usually 400%.

How much !!! how about using just a single pole, ala Tohatsu / solent rib style, much cheaper to do the design work and measurements yourself and take it to a welder and have it made. If you must have an A frame then ensure there is lots of room to lift the engine cover off, otherwise its a real pain.

Tell her that all the wives suggest to put an A frame, cause it makes the boat heavier and easier to sink, collect the insurance and buy a new one, bigger and sexier, without an A frame

You've got to have something to hold onto while releiving yourself overboard.

Tell her that it a safety device to stop her falling over the back, as "you could not face life without her, and "if she drowned you could never find a better woman"
Makes you sick, but it works

Have you got any.....
kids ? If so tell her it makes the RIB safer and more stable and you're just thinking about them. Then, just as she teeters on wheather you're lieing or telling the truth, add "and reduces the cost of insurance". Crap like that always works on my "dragon"

Naughty boys, you lot!! Just tell the truth - it is 'necessary' as a mounting point for nav lights, VHF aerial, and any other 'safety' items eg flares box, throwing line or whatever.
Or, better still, tell her it looks cool!

Hi Louise - said I would register eventually!
Paul also feels he needs an A frame funnily enough. I, on the other hand, REALLY need a new leather handbag, shoes and a holiday in Greece. Negotiation here is the key girls!

Hi Sue
Wow - only one post and you've already earned a credibility point!!
Nice to have another woman on board - these boys need keeping in check from time to time.
Bilgie - I'm on your side! Just need to make sure you boys remain respectable to your better halves.
