It's hull number 1 of the Cougar SAR Cat 900 - it's actually a 1986 - Kevlar was fitted with 60mm mortars and GPMG machine guns - bought by the Kuwaitis - this one was at Hamble then went to Cowes - went away in 2010 and a very nice chappess with lots of money allowed her skipper to refurb her - it came on the market 2 weeks ago - and I couldn't resist - I pick her up on Thursday from itchen - then straight over to Cowes - will be doing the Solent rounds between Gunwharf and Lymo - and everywhere in between this weekend - I will try and behave but please excuse me if your in a Rib and in line of sight..... Fair Game
Cougar SAR Cat during self righting trials, before moving to Stonehaven for collar fit (BSAP) as it was called in those days. The boat stayed there about a year for evaluation. If I remember twin Volvo 200hp and duo props!!
