Hi Shaggy;
Its the boat that Chris bought, Viper Max 6,5m with a 150hp Mariner.
A Seaharrier with a 250 is really fast, maybe a little to overpowered with less equipment in boat, we talking around 58 knots depending on engine model.
My last Seaharrier had a 200HPDI and did 52 knots.
A Viper Max 6,5m with a 200HPDI, almost same equipment as my old Seaharrier made the same speed 52 knots.
Its 2 totaly different kind of seahandling, the Seaharrier is more sporty and more soft in ruff seas but the boat is also more wet to drive in the ruff seas.
The boat lurch more than the Viper Max in sharp turns while the Viper Max is almost flat.
For fun and crazy drives i would go for the Seaharrier and for cruising and high speed on not to much waves (around 1m) i would go for the Viper Max.
The Viper max has bigger beam so boat has bigger storage and deck space.
Here is a nice pic of a Seaharrier.

Petrov is pretty much spot on with his comments. For high speed cruising the Vipermax is great. With hydraulic steering in calm seas you cross your arms at the helm and it tracks like an arrow at 30+knts. Top end pre-service with the 150 opti is just over 40knts but she was only reving to 5250. There's another 500 rpm in there somewhere. She is slightly under-propped which suits me. With the 200 opti it would be well lively without losing much in eonomy.

Bloody hell - why was it soooooo long, i would have turned arround and walked out with my cash if they told me it was going to take 6 months to build my boat.
have you had some particularly time consuming stuff added to it - or is there just a long waiting list.

Congrat to new boat, i guess you will do a knot or two more than the HPDI engines, offcourse depending on the equipment you have and offcourse the porp.
Good luck with boat.

you name it i have had various delays with this build, but to be fair i havent been treated badly and it has in a round about way gone in my favour with majour reduction on original quoted price, + i gained 200hp over original 175 hp for same price . again better for me, and poor old ed @olmec has been ill. so i have been tubeless for some time now,, but again himself i have spoken to and he is on with the job now,
never the less if i had thought it would of taken so long i would most likely of bought second hand. but its gota be worth it in the end even if summer is over

I assume you have sold her then hopefully gone to a good home?
I spoke to the guy that bought my first Viper yesterday as I found his number in my phone book it was great to hear how much he is enjoying Danny Boy.

Yeah, she's gone to a good home right back where she came from. The new owner knows the original owner.
