Has anyone here ever used a "blank" (emptied of shot) shotgun cartridge to inflate a sponson?

It works but it's not worth the bother. If you were to do it, do it via a tube rather than straight in, to prevent tube scorching.
Twenty to get a 5m afloat.......smokeless of course.
Less effort and time but will affect your guarantee.
FYI 20 cartridges take up the same space as a compressed air bottle required to do the same job. But that is to just get afloat.

Foxes rock, we have 4 bantams in a run in the garden. The foxes have a go but don't have a chance.
My west London foxes are looked after and the bantams are safe.
It's the magpies that get it.

The next one will be using a shotgun cartridge as anotherway to start an outboard engine like the old koffman starter.

Yep, i can just image it...in your rush to pack the boat and towing vehicle with all your boating gear you inadvertanly pick up some full cartridges mixed in with the blanks.....Next thing you've driven down to the busy slipway, boat in tow and, in an effort to impress everyone around you, you decide to 'top up the tubes' the manly way... You pull out your gun, instictively load it up while trying not to look back at all your 'admirers' staring at you and promptly blow the arse out of the underside of your rib!

Awsome!

Simon
