Show us your flotsam :)

Inspired by a comment made by the Missus (thanks)I was wondering what people have found in the sea.
To date I have found:-
8 fenders
2 footballs
1 deck brush
2 baseball caps (still wearing one, lost the other)
2 horseshoes floats
1 baseball cap from Americas cup boat (not saying which in case they want it back)
1 set of sailing trousers (thought it was a body)

When I spot these things I treat them as a ‘man overboard drill’ and then keep them as a trophy. Des

What did you do when you found the horseshoe ring and trousers. This could start a new topic of discussion.

Funnily enough I did mention it to the coastguard but as none of them were marked and there were no reports of missing boats at the time they weren’t that interested. A lot of this stuff just drops of yachts usually during Cowes week. Des

A television (believe it or not some do float!!), assorted fenders, a beer barrel (ok that was in the river, beer didn't smell to good when we cracked it open) and a lifejacket.

Find her once but can't take her home. She wants to stay on the beach only.

Ah but is it flotsam or jetsam?

Found loads of bits over the season.

Fenders
Bimni frame work
footballs
semi deflated balloon
or and the odd PWC!

Regards

An Inflatable Dalmation/Dalmatian (?)

Of the beach toy kind as opposed to Anne Summers.

I told the CG I had found it as I was downwind of a busy child-infested beach.
They asked if there was a child with it.......I told them there was but I managed to beat him up and get it off him anyway.

a 65 year old man. fortunately he had a auto inflating life jacket on and was fine. apparently he was trying out his canoe with an outboard on the back. (in the columbia river!)he hit a wave and fell out. found his canoe still driving a few hundred yards away. he weighed about 300lbs i would guess. pulling him over the side took 10 minutes. drove him 15 miles back home with the death trap in tow.

What was a chest freezer doing going to Guernsey in the first place? Mind you, having seen the ferry prices, no wonder it decided to make its own way there.....

Found loads of stuff but the oddest has to be

A coconut tree complete with coconuts

A bouncing bomb

The bouncing bomb is one of the dummy round ones tested before the Dam Busters kind - carried by Mosquitos.

Also found a jetski - well actually watched it being washed away - my attitude was if the person who owned it was too stupid to learn about tides and was prepared to leave a £6000 bit of kit lying on a beach they deserve all they get!!!
