Signal pistol
Anybody know where I can buy a MARINE grade signal pistol.. other than the good 'ol US of A? They're not keen on exporting them for some reason, although standard firearms..no problem!

Jono,
Its going back to the states, but a company called West Marine who are on the web sell them, i had a couple of sets of plastic ones a few years ago from them. They did mail them aswell back then. Might be different now though.
Actually Im talking about flare pistols, not starter guns are we on to the same thing?
Over hear there is the old Very Pistol which takes cartridges and I think can still be bought new with a fire arms license - possibly check with Woods of Crediton - they sell alot of navy surplus and may have some used ones. Remember about the license though!

Thanks, Neville. It was the plastic one that attracted my attention, but they will not export them even to an RFD. The pistols available in the UK seem to be aimed at airport authorities and as such are not "rust proofed" sufficiently for marine use. Will try Woods.
Jono
PS - I have a FAC

Just spoke to a friend of mine, Safety Central will let you organise the shipping and supply them on that basis, so you would need to use a UPS or DHL type account. Also they dont accept non usa credit cards (how insular can you get!) so you will need to do a wire transfer which they were happy with...

Caution! As I understand it these are now banned in the Uk under firearms legislation......
As it fires a 12 bore cartridge it could be used to fire a shotgun shell.
If you've found that you can get a licence for them please let me know.
Thanks!

Jono,
Pleased to hear that they're ok with FAC, p'd off cos I know of one (not mine!) that was disposed of as the owner was informed that all pistols were illegal.
They're good for scaring of polar bears as well as Welshmen.....

Just buy an AK47 ( http://www.kalashnikov.guns.ru/) now the government has cracked down on illegal guns you can get one easily without a licence, it will be cheaper to own than a legal gun, you can start and stop a race 10 times a second and if someone doesn’t hear a recall you can let them know up to a mile away.

So true - of course now guns are banned nobody can buy them - just like drugs - since they were banned there is no drug problem and they are impossible to obtain!!!!
