Totally agree with skill, you'd be suprised how quick a vessel that size would turn with transverse thrust alone, once you've got her trembling whilst pulling astern, then half ahead with the starboard engine,,, hard to say if said vessel has bow thrusters, i couldn't see much wash from the bow erea. hats off very well handled.
If it was luck then the cameras wouldn't be so well placed.

or not skill - stupid - if one of the engines failed coming in at that speed it could be a mess. (see bow sprit)

there is a way to get out of that space and it is taught to police and chauffers as a form of defensive driving, ie carrying a vip then being deliberately trapped at traffic lights or between two vehicles before a hijack attempt.
this one only works with front wheel drive cars though - turn full lock then give it full throttle, dump the clutch and the front end will rotate out of the space, basically giving you a front end donut - the reverse of what you see rally drivers do.
oh, and dont practice it - tyres dont like it and nor do clutches!

You could say that about mooring with one engine though!

It was skill that got the boat in, fair enough he could have done it slower and was showboating but it wasn't a fluke it went in.

true - but if i only had one engine, i'd be even more careful. Skillful until it goes wrong. Looks good though!
