I returned to Port Solent today as I'd managed to arrive home with the wrong arming kit for my lifejacket.
I'm sure it is a manufacturing defect rather than impact damage.
The marks on the hull are crayon showing the extent of removal of the gelcoat / GRP. A lot of the edges of the GRP are still soft and hairy which suggests there wasn't much in the way of resin in the layer that they are peeling off.
It was moist in the Solent today.
