I'm heading to Largs to use the RNLI slip tomorrow. The free slip in the car park by the pencil at the marina is also good.

If there is any wind it is quite rough there. Better to pay at largs for a rib imo

The marina at Troon has an excellent slip that is well sheltered within the marina. Can be rough outside the Harbour but probably no more so than Ardrossan.

About the same distance as Largs the other way, again the marina has an excellent slip.

If it has to be free, there's a public slip immediately adjacent to the marina, probably only good for the top couple of hours of the tide but parking won't be an issue and it's a bit more sheltered than the RLNI slip in the town. Just watch the rocks on the way in.

The slip by the pencil in largs is fine above half tide and free the one in the marina is £12 each way

There is a slipway at Salcoats Harbour. It's stone and a bit steep but can be used with a 4x4 as I used it a few times to launch a 6.5m humber destroyer
