Slipway near Brighton

Hello,

We are planning a trip, and are looking for a slipway in the neighbourhood of Brighton.
The slipway must be suitable for trailering a 10m RIB.

Any suggestions?

Regards
Martijn

There's a couple in Shoreham - only free one I know of is next to (west of) Emerald Quay on the beach, else try the yacht club.

Else it's Newhaven at the marina but the last time I used it around 2 years ago it was £15 for launch and recovery by Russell Simpson chandlers - during shop hours only too.

Guys

The only place to launch a 10 metre RIB is at Newhaven. You need to contact Simpson Marine Telephone : 01273 612612. or Newhaven Marina Tel : 01273 513881

They dont normally launch boats this size so I would speak to them first.

You will need to launch & retrieve near HW due to the slipway angle, the cost is approx £26.

Parking is now much reduced at Newhaven due to new building work.

Shoreham has Lady Bee marina, but due to the slipway angle there is no way that you will manover a 10m trailer into position.

Shoreham yacht club also has a suitable slipway - we regularly used it for the 9.0m work RIB - plenty of room to manouvere, not sure what they ll charge or if they ll let non members use it thou. They also have a tractor to save getting your vehicle wet.

Likewise Russel Simpson won't let you self launch/recovery either.
