I was reading on the BIBOA and it said that if you want to go on one of their cruises you need to have your SSR number displayed on your boat.
I don't plan to go on any such cruises immediatly. Is there any point in me registering my boat. What are the advantages etc?
for only £12.00 pounds it well worth it
and its a trace able number if you get it nicked it can be marked on the boat
when i think of a name i will get one and mine will have london on the back
how cools that

You definately do not have to do that if you dont want.
However for £12 it is jolly good value, I believe you also have the right to fly the Red(?) duster and the ability to call upon the assistance of Her Majesty's Royal Navy if you get into trouble anywhere in the world. Now how cool is that then?
I think the requirement is an advisory one, especially if planning to go abroad in your beast.
It furnishes you with a very nice Certificate of Registration too, which I am reliably informed will get you in free to the Military Museum in Leningrad. That's so cool it's freezing!
So get to display your port name as well?!?!!
I think I will do it, although I don't fancy putting Gt Yarmouth on the boat! Does it have to be your nearest port, or the one you actually use?
