Sneaky day off

Hi all, woke up this morning and said sod work! So I headed up to menai as xc weather report looked good,
Ever had one of those days when everything goes right?
No Chris at ty calch, but he said I'm more than welcome to use his slip (again)
Couldn't buy any bait anywhere,so no fishing
Launched by myself with no probs
Tried out new prop, old one was ally 19 pitch,so now using stainless 17 pitch
Omg what a difference I was able to get 40 knots, well 39.8 according to GPS ,,not bad for a late90s. Yamaha 90
I then remembered I had a jelly lure in my tackle box,so thought why not give it a go,
You know what's coming!!! Only a 31/2lb bass under Britannia bridge!!!!
I topped off my day off with a simple recover at ty calch
Brilliant day out and thanks to Chris again
Might go again in morning

Nice eating size.
I find the jelly worms, shads, & redgill eels better than cut bait for many species - certainly get a much better stamp of fish.
Need to be worked to give them 'life' so more work than bait but worth the effort.
Rigged on a 12' trace from a french boom. Lower to the bottom, wind back up 20 turns or so, lower to the bottom, wind back up etc etc
Shads & worms work well with leadheads & can be jigged or fished as above.

Well Ian looks like today was your day after the bad luck you had in the passed year. Looks like this is your year. Enjoy your bass

Sounds great. Unfortunately we were battling snow earlier this week, but spring is a coming!
