Solent Gathering 13th March.

Hi All

It’s that time of the month again, and all are welcome at the Churchillian Public House, Portsdown Hill on Monday evening the 13th March.

Regulars and newbie alike can amaze the gathered crowd with stories of courage at sea in desperate situations. Like trying to get to Yarmouth before the Kings Head stops serving lunch.
Or even demonstrate the unnatural positions needed to be adopted in order to wire up from scratch a new console.

We also need to arrange the series of hilltop beacon fires to signal the imminent arrival of Codprawn from across the channel.

The evening usually kicks off about 7:30 and ends when we are chucked out.

Challenge for this month is - How many drunken students can get back to Pompey in a 4x4 Kia without making a mess of the back seat.

Theme for the month is – who can produce the most Knackered piece of engine.
Bits of Rover V8 (Mr Halliday) are not eligible due to the frequency with which they let go in the hands of Solent area Rib owners.

Look forward to see you all there.

Nasher.

Neal Hi

we're hoping Hightower has managed to persuade his missus to let him have a 4x4 more suited to his stature.

One of the Students has a Kia as well, you must remember, the one that got stuck on the beach and his so called friends posted the pics.

OK You stoodent lot, mine's the posh green one with leather seats. Just make sure you get in the right one at chucking up/out time.

I think there could be at least 4 green Discos there this month, or 8 to 12 if you are in your ususal state.

Tim will be on the roof of the landy - not letting anything smell this car out!

Looking forward to it, at least with dark green I don't get any comments about the colour (how does that work with you andy? Presumeably people can't look up high enough to say your Kia is a bit of a gay blue )

Should be a good night - hopefully heralding the start of sunshine, and the fixing of a yamaha gearbox...

I would just like to dispel the rumour that I am an alcoholic. Indeed I did have a drink or five too many at Christmas (although I still put my illness down to that dodgy parsnip Andy gave me). If anyone has been in a car with Jimbo you will know why I was sick!

cough * overtaking on the inside at a T junction whilst racing me (this was on a private road you understand!), driving through red lights at roadworks, a certain BMW * I seem to have found my cough mixture now so I'll stop coughing

Nothing wrong with Black Death Tim, Bogi drinks it all the time .

Shall I bring it with me on Monday night, just to be doubley sure it wasn't that that made you sick.

I could always give it to Jimbo for making rude remarks about mi Sportage. At least if you're sick you wouldn't notice on a Green Car .

Warning

I might just be able to get to this one. I have been trying for over a year. But do you accept posh (ex-)City blokes like me - even if I can fill a rib with water very (and I mean very) quickly!

I'm now dead scared. I don't even think a landy would be a match for a Delica if n when!

Paul, I need a couple of ASBOS, apparently If I get another 2 (that'll make 6) I get a free holiday!

Depends on whether or not you're drinking baileys. To be honest, it's fairly academic what you drink, as it all ends up on the floor/my car/on the pavement anyway!

Anybody want to buy any fixed VHF radios? Have a selection of s/h non dsc ones I can bring to the church if wanted!
