Solent June Gathering – BBQ?

Hello all, it’s that time of the month again.
Second Monday of June is the 11th.

We discussed turning this months ‘do’ into a BBQ.

Is everyone still up for that idea?

If so we might as well have it where we did last time in the field/park near the Churchillian.
Up the small lane about 100yards past the Churchillian and into the small car park that faces inland.

Again if everyone still wants to do it I’ll bring along a couple of disposable BBQs and get them lit about 7:30. Bring your own food and drinks and more BBQs if you want.
I’m sure Mr Halliday would bring along his birthday present BBQ again.

Let me know.

I'm quite happy to sit inside/outside the pub as usual if everyone has gone off the idea.

Nasher.

Is this still going to happen tonight?

If so I will supply all the cups and plates as well as anything else needed.

Andy

Hi, Hopefully, if the predicted showers stay away.

I'll be there @7:30 to light a couple of BBQs.

A few hardy souls gathered close around the BBQs yesterday evening trying to keep warm in the breeze on top of Portsdown Hill.
To be fair the wind did drop off later on to make it quite pleasant.

Hightower misunderstood the concept, and instead of bringing food brought along beer and his new control lever.
this prompted several grown men and one lady to demonstrate their throttle actions whilst adopting mock helm positions and discussing how stiff their action was. (You had to be there.) We all agreed Hightower had the stiffest.

New Boy 'Into The Blue' turned up to haunt Pete7 after buying a hull from him a few years ago, and went home to check his newly refurbished hull for stress fractures.

Next month should be back in the comfort of the Churchillian.

I would like to categorically state I distanced myself from this particular activity. Also from any dodgy comments about the newly-married.-(Kathleen)

Good to hear Kevin & Kathryn's diving tales and perhaps we should have a summer gathering on the Versa Dock

Ha why not, it's sitting there kind of empty at the mo, might even tow it over to Priory Picnic for boats to dock next to and a sunbathing platform.

Now you're talking. Next thing you'll be running virtual powerboat courses on board

Nauti Powerboat Training has a ring to it
