Some people!

I've done a very basic service on my outboard now and after finding out the weather for this weekend I thought about trying to find a lake to try out the engine. Phoned around a few to be told what I'd guessed would be the case. Have to be a member, no power boats allowed but one sent me an interesting email.
Basic, it said you have to be a member and the lake was used for powerboat racing and water skiing. RIB's aren't allowed unless for use as a safety boat. If I wanted to use the lake I should go out and buy a boat more suited for water skiing and better suited to the water!

So I'm sorry to tell you this ladies and gents, RIB's are crap and you should go out and buy a popper boat

Simple solution - throw in anything that will float/ people in lifejackets & claim you RIB is the safety boat for said items / people!

Try your local RYA sailing club.

Windermere allowed me to use their slip for gratis when I rang up asking for a bit of water to test my Opti out.

Aye but with the speed limit I can't test the engine out like I'd want too. Thanks anyway.

I've phoned, I've emailed I've even gone down there. No one will talk to me about it. The boat clubs there to have a rep for being abit snobby.

LOL My lad would love one of them. He's obsessed about about model/toy boats. It's all him and his granddad talk about

It would be worth finding out who owns it. If its the council go in their with a walking stick and give it the equality and diversity angle and what they are doing about it

It's privately owned. Has been for a long time and the owner had it up for sale, including the worlds smallest Pub, Mississippi boat etc for just a couple of million 5 years ago.

I bought a job lot off of ebay a few years ago. I love this type of stuff. I'll find them later and see if I can spare one.
