Beach launching can be a pain most of the time, if you have a trailer why not just launch at a ramp then explore from the ramps.

Honda 20hp outboard engine (2015, less than 10 hours).
Fuel tank, tubing and connectors.
2x bench seats.
Honwave bench bag.
Transom "dolly" wheels for easy launching.
Electric pump.
Rooteq engine trolley.
£2.5K would be a very good price. Last year I sold a similar setup, 20hrs 2016 year, 3.8m Excel/20hp Suzuki for £2.8K which saved the buyer about a grand. Could easily have got a few hundred more but I wanted a quick sale. Plenty of interest, could have sold it times over and I advertised on Gumtree not Ebay.

If you can manage and store a trailer then think twice about buying a bigger SIB. Others love em but selling the SIB the best move ever for us. Beach launching or rather the retrieval was a killer. Wheeling uphill through soft sand and over stones, heavy wet boat, tired after long day, bow handle cutting into fingers, tide always seemed to be out.. Emptying the boat of gear (which I am now able to leave in the RIB). Missus had chest pains from physical effort required hauling it out. After that allow plenty of time to disassemble. Not an enjoyable experience. Probably why that T40AE you are looking at only has 10 hours of use..

Why not go with a lightweight smaller SIB or get a second-hand RIB or solid hull boat like a (unsinkable) Boston Whaler?

If just for getting out to fish then it may be worth considering a slightly smaller engine, something a bit lighter and therefore more manageable on the beach.

Ha. Silly season. Went for £3100.

For around three hundred more you could have a brand spanking new rig.

Congratulations, those hondas are fantastic little motors.

Couldn't see all the add, is this without a trailer ?

I owned Honda 20 ( with power trim ) which was quite a lump in weight, I personally wouldn't want to carry one. I don't know what it is but carrying a couple of fuel drums with 40-50kg ( 2x25lt) of fuel but it seems far easier than carrying one engine half the weight ( for me ).

Keep us informed how it goes.

So Russ is Ladram Bay the only place you'd use this outfit? Can you get a car to the top edge of the beach to tow the outfit up that steep road to the caravan? Is it just you or sometimes/always with others?

Like some others above I'd wonder if a smaller sib and smaller outboard might suit... so much easier to handle lower weights on a steep pebble beach.

Or even a totally different boat such as PVC or alloy which might suit pulling up those stones better.

I wonder how far you want to go... just fish in the bay or perhaps round to Sidmouth or Exemouth?

No based on my own selling experience your valuation must have been off Chipko. Do the math including accessories.

My first boat ( not a rib ) was kept up a beach on the lower parts of a cliff. I used the anchor rope tied to a post I placed at the bottom of the cliff then block and tackled the boat up the anchor line using a climbing ascender and two double pulleys.

Something to go fishing in

No, my valuation was what I would pay.

It’s a four year old boat/motor, the accessories are a minor benefit and add little value to the sale.

A new T40 can be found for £1100 and a new Merc/Mariner 20 efi under £2300....arguably a far better motor than a lardy carbed Honda 20.

But hey, each to their own.

I agree with you Chipko as I wouldn't pay £2,200 either but that wasn't the question.

I offered mine back to the supplying dealer and my boat wasn't even worth two grand cash value after 16 months/as new/20 hrs. I got £800 more privately, even though I undervalued it so after the advert's response I didn't budge on price. Unfortunately should have advertised it for more.

Also agree why are Honda selling any 15/20hp engines at all when Tohatsu and Suzuki EFI ones are available at similar price?
