South of France

Hi All,

I am exploring options for the South of France and bringing the boat with us as we did with Portugal very successfully a few years ago. I have searched the forum for key words like France buy trying to find anything is something of a challenge with 10 pages of possible threads. Can any of you give some good and quick guidance on where to go in France (I found all Pikey Daves super helpful stuff on what is needed from a regulatory standpoint and that is all similar to what we had in Portugal). I am more interested in where we should go at this point and where we can put the boat for 2 weeks - I am thinking south of France but no idea where is good for boating etc or could do South West atlantic coast but it looks a bit boring (lacking off shore islands etc).

Be really interested in anyones direct experience of holidaying in the South or South West France with a RIB - practical stuff like - marinas, launching, speed restrictions, towing laws (wakeboard), places to visit and stay etc etc

I’ve been to the S of France and Mallorca with mine , SoF can be a bit boring depending on what you want to do always blows up when it gets to afternoon we stayed at Grimaud near St tropes
Mallorca was ok plenty of bays to go to etc
Have you considered Corsica at all

Have a look at Morbihan/ille de Oleron/noirmoutier/Arcachon. Much more interesting than SoF and cheaper. Just avoid July & August at all cost.
