Southampton Boat Show 2003
Myself and Tim are planning to go to the show on the Friday and stay until the Sunday.I have never been to this show although often threatened to get there, it would probably be a good opportunity to meet some of the guys on the forum so can anyone suggest a meeting place that is sure to be there, and any ideas for keeping in touch etc, could we nominate a place and time on each of the days that ribbers could meet up, just a thought any suggestions welcome, maybe people could post up when they will be there etc TIM /GAVIN

I am hoping to go to this event sometime during the week, but anything could change
Last year, we went on the first day, but were then told that the best offers were towards the end of the week
If there's a load of people going on a particular day, I'll aim for that if I can.

I applied for my free tickets from Suzuki last Friday via e-mail - I hope they get the message before the 1st!!
They didn't give much time though really.... I only got the invite last Thursday
Sounds good Gavin.... not long to go now.... wonder if the high pressure that's building now will hold, or whether it'll chuck it down that week with rain....

Recommend Travel Inn as I use it a lot when I am in the UK which is quite often, if you´re driving Travel Inn in Fareham is a good choice with one of my favourite restaurant TGI Fridays and the second hand boat show (Ribtec place) on the way to the main exhibition

Hmm, Travel Inns make you pay extra for your breakfast, don't they?
We like to use Best Western although they are a little more expensive, you get a superb breakfast included and really, really comfortable rooms. We stayed at the Botleigh Grange Hotel last Thursday... superb! I bet it fills up quickly at Boat Show time
Last minute deals are good if you dare risk it.

for the price at Botleigh Grange I think I can afford to stay at the Travel Inn and splash out on a full English and still stay under their price for one night.
Just call me cheap

Yup!
I did say wait for the offers!
(But think of the brownie points you'll earn with the missus - as long as she's not paying!)

we wouldn't have a problem putting a few of you up we have a spare room and someone could laways stay in the 'Grinch Suite' (the couch that is. Also if you are down it would be in hospitable not to take you all out for a spin
