Southampton slipway + car park

Hi folks,

I will cruise in the UK this summer and looking for a slipway at southampton and a car park place for my car and trailer in a secured place for 2 weeks.
Do you have any recommendation ? nice, friendly and cheap marina ?
thanks

I'm not sure about cheap, the Solent is the most expensive place to boat in the UK.

I have always used Mercury Yacht Harbour on the Hamble when launching and leaving the car and trailer for any length of time. Staff are friendly and trail boat helpful and the car parking is good with 24/7 security. Its not 'cheap' but a great place to base yourself.

A lot of Rib activity in this area is based out of Hamble. However, Town Quay might have spaces in the middle of Southampton.

There are plenty of slipways around - you could try asking Drivers yard on the Itchen for space for the car and trailer perhaps - they can be cheap I am told

I'd be happy to store your trailer (in a locked storage unit) and car for you free of charge. Crosshouse slipway in Southampton is very good and we can help you launch.

Are you coming over by ferry if so where do you dock.
Should you want Moorings then Ocean Quay Marina on the Itchen is quite RIB friendly and its 15 minutes closer to the sea than SDS or Drivers. Drivers is a good yard with a lot of helpful powerboaters there

Best regards Stu

Try hythe marina it is a marina with lock gates so good security and has car trailer parking also they have a hotel in the marina as well.

I have no affiliation with hythe marina just walk the dog there a lot and I also launch off the public slipway at the marina.

I'm sure they do a weekly or 2 weekly deal as well also slipway is free to use at hythe also your about 600m away from WOT no endless river transiting
