Spanish Trip

Planning on two weeks in Bellcaire D'Emporda nr Gerona this July so am going to send the family down to Gerona via RyanAir and I will drive down a few days before through France.

I am getting my ICC form submitted as I know that the RYA Level 2 is not always recognised abroad, can anyone think of any other paperwork I will need either for towing the boat or using it in Spain?

Also there is a marina at L'escala a couple of kilometres away and I would be interested to know if anyone has any experience of using it?

Thanks!

  • Car driving license
  • insurance for boat and car
  • AA Membership for Europe
  • eh1c for all family members

We have a boat kept in a marina in northern Spain and for that we needed our day skipper course but to launch a boat i don't think you require this. The most important things you will need are proof of ownership of the boat, insurance and your passport.

I don't think there is much else you will need.

Hi mate, yes the trailer will be having a major drums off overhaul before heading off for a 2k jaunt. I will be replacing the bearings and taking a spare hub with bearings fitted if Rogue Wave does not mind lending me one of his spares.
