Splicing video

WX is cr@p today so was playing with rope instead. This is a nice video with a slightly different take on making an eye splice - thought I would share...

I am probably being slow, being a Sunday morning, but that's the way I've always done an eye splice. What's the other way?

There's something very therapeutic about splicing! I would like to learn more than the basic 3 strand ones too

Not when you have a coil of four strand and you don't know how to splice it!!!

Very different technique...
I've seen the two on youtube. That Irish one looks fine but it's not appropriate for what I'm doing - one to remember though. There's a Portuguese one too on there, right technique but out of focus using same coloured hemp and I don't speak Portuguese!

So your mission for today is learn portugese then tommorow you can splice 4 stand rope...

Curious... Why 4 strand...

So some 8 strand rope can be sliced with two strands taped together - effectively treating it as 4 strand...
