It needn't be that much but potentially a waste of money.
I had an Oxford 600D cover that only lasted 3 months in our UK sun earlier this year, was going to replace with a Ducksback but still not confident about longevity so currently using a lorry curtainside type tarp £130. It gets hot underneath but at least no UV.
