Square tubs mounted on sonar bar?
Can someone explain what are the square tubs with what look like screw type tops are that I see mounted on the RIB sonar bar? The look common on RIB's in Europe but I don't seem them in the States. TIA

They generally started life as signal flare holders. They do have a screw lid.
The US version seems to be more ammo box in shape.

Apologies to all for sending this in the direction of the bilges.
Any time the OP wants to say thank you for answering the original question, that would be nice.
He can then disappear back under his bridge.

Thanks for a real response on the question. Appreciated.
Now I'll take my rightful position on top of the bridge.
