Jim would definitely give the guy £1500 for that after 10 pints of Electomonade. Then tell him to keep the trailer and the tubes and possibly the hull. In fact, he'd say "Sod it, keep the boat and the £1500 and I'll build a new one."

Oh yeah. £1500 was the winning bid, but you managed to beat them 'up' to £1550.
'Trigger's Broom II' is coming along expensively.

She did well didn't she? I'm doing ok with Jonny/Rudes at present. I've got a heap of teleflex and Honda 33c control cables to offload now.

In your little collection of marine goodies, I don't suppose you have a nut for a Teleflex helm? I've managed to source a woodruff key.

Yeah but it's no good having tubes if the engine falls off. Someone without a clue has cut it down from a twin engine transom.

A good man could rebuild the transom.

Yep, but given the state of the rest of the hull too an intelligent man wouldn't pay much more than the starting bid for it-and it's got a reserve...

I don't think it's worth any more than the value of the fitted Merc control box
