Sr4

Hi all. I'm considering buying an sr4 with a 50 hp mercury on it. Would it be wrong of me to upload a pic to get info from you on what you think. Re condition/price and engine age. Maybe the seller is a member?. Will await a verdict before I do it. Cheers

I'm guessing your not kim ?

I've been speaking to a kim about MY SR4 / mariner 50 (probably the same engine).

There is plenty of sr4 experience here, post a photo and you'll have more info on the boat in 24hrs that you know what to do with.

People perhaps a little more shy on valuations, but I'm sure you'll get some PM's. There isn't infact any reason this can't be discussed openly though.

PS: the 4m SR with a 50 is an excellent combo. Most fun per buck you can have ribbing I think.

I'm not enough of a SR geek to tell you all about the boat but someone will be along.

The battery in the back isn't ideal.
I'd like a backrest on the seat but neither are show stoppers. Any trailer? On a boat like this that can be as much as 25% of the value.

The flavour of engine however I can tell you is a good'un, reliable and no issues I'm aware of. Worth a compression test before buying and make sure you see it start and run. You'll have no idea how many hours it's run so totally ignore anyone claims as they are completely unverifiable.

It IS basically the same rig and engine as I have which (might) be for sale so I'll drop you a PM.

That's what my PM said.
There's one on here at £2k at the mo, with a less desirable engine IMO

Too much me thinks, £2500 would be more like it and I would still be trying to knock him down!

You might know this but the year of manufacture for the engine is 1994 - 1998

3250 is pretty top $$ for a SR4, although those tubes do look pretty good.

Rubbish. its a later model SR4 with adventurer tubes with a reasonable modern outboard with Power trim and tilt.
Why don't you google what SR you can get for 2500 or less and have a look at the dross that is currently available... I sold mine without power trim and tilt for £3850.00 and if were close enough i would be happy to pay 3450 for that as I know what a great little boat I can turn it in to!

Agree with MattH - That's £3250 to £3750 depending on the exact condition and how its all rigged .

If it needs work on re rigging wiring etc then lower end - if its all done 'right' - top end of £3800 sounds fair.

There are £1500 bargains out there - there are also £1500 dogs that I wouldnt trust in the bath ...
