well got it in the yard and pumped up gave it a clean off then put it in the glassing shed to dry while i go to america for 10 days which after the trandsome should be dry and can be injected for repair
well its been a heller summer for us and unfotunatly the boat had to be taken back to the feild while i was away and i am yet to retreve it becouse i got my self a ready to go searider. i had to be on the water and i got a pretty good deal considering time of year and the boat was solid with a sound engine but being in the water all summer took its toll
i have desided to fix and sell this searider and keep my original project boat so over summer i develped a very bowed transom which dident help by keeping to use the boat any how it somehow managed to keep the engine attached i removed the engine and reveled the severity of the issue after consulting some colegues the only way to do it properly was to strip it back and build an new transom i got no shots of the state of the bow or removing the engine but i started snapping the transom work so this took me a afternoon to complete
the rebuild of the transom will be happining as soon as it can as im more exsited to start my proper sr4 which i have some pretty intresting ideas for and nothing i have seen this size has which im frothing at the mouth to start ;P
more pics the metal transome braces were rusty and im restoreing this boat to a high standard so they were grinded bare and painted with marine grade paint and will be finished in gloss black im thinking
well i have done a lot more work now i have got the boat home and it fitts ing the garage i have removed all wood to glass and slowly and painfully cut a new plywood sheet as a replacement which now fits as of tonight it very exited to glass it up and start rigging it ready for summer shame the cowl catcher wont be complete atm but just getting the boat seaworthy is great for me
right well its slow but advancing progress i have made myself the deadline of may day it has to functioning well to got over padstow aha i have managed to get the marine ply to fit lovely and have flow coated both sides to seal it and bit of strength it still fits well i have ordered a sound system last night need to get 3 c7 valve kits as the old style this boat has sucks but hers some pic of the flowcoat in place
today went was a treat got the tansom in finaly filled the holes from tansome bolts and fillerd the holes in the bottom wher the wood will slot then coverd the tansome with resen and 1 layer of mat then and put loads of filler in any gaps then place the wood inplace with a mallet put all the camp i had and me puting my wegt with my feet on the inside got it to set nicely and im super happy with the strength of it so alls is good for now jut need to make a bit of a ramp with filler for the mat to go on for the front and shee will be done
i have a bit of dimond plate stainless which i could add but dont now weather theres anypoint and weather it would ruin the look of it any ideas ?also drilled the holes for supports and painted them BLACK its all comeing together
