sr4 with bf50?

Has anyone tried or does anyone have a sr4 with a honda bf 50 four stroke on it???
Can the sr4 handle the weight? and what is the top speed???
Right now I have a Johnson 25 2 stroke and I can get 26-28 mph while riding all alone but I want to put on something bigger/faster but I want to be sure the rib can handle it.
Thanks, Rodney.

A very big lump to stick on a SR4 and apart from effecting the balance of the boat, bound to knock the top end a bit. Add a BF50 into the equation and I'd be very concerned...

(You should be fine )

Our's had an old Jonny 30 on it prior to the BF50. Yeah, the BF is great, quiet, pokey on an SR4 and economical. You wont see much more than 32 knots though, even with prop experimentation. Our's is running at about 30knots as it's propped for w/boarding.

Let us know how you get on. Unfortunately I think it is a fair price given the amount of R&D that's gone into the things, it's just a very high one.

Are those Hondas not the lightest 4-st 50s out there? I remember looking at one a while back and being surprised just how close to some of the 2- stokes it was in the lard dept.
