You can see in the first post how fried the original strake was. Ended up going with the dark. The tubes need a good rinsing (old glue and sanding dust everywhere) and then some 303 and they'll be good to go. Still search for that right engine though!

I think that I'll turn this into an unofficial build thread...that way there's less pressure to really keep it moving!

Yesterday:
-Rebuilt a trailer for it, new carpet, bunks, hardware, etc.
-Console and seat base in, seat cushion getting sent out for upholstery
-New grab line
-A good cleaning
-Lots of 303 applied as it seems to soak it all right up

Still looking for the right engine...

Continuing the unofficial buying thread...

Seat was rotted out. New seat is Starboard base, ply backrest.

Since the unsealed junk ply that Avon used lasted 20+, I didn't bother buying a whole sheet of 3/4" marine grade; I used what I had. Additionally, since it was in the garage, I did coat it epoxy I had from another project.

Looking good. When are you hoping to have her out on the water?

As soon as we can source an engine - As previous discussed, a 15 year old Yam 90 can still cost $3,000-$5,000. Also looking for Honda/Nissan/Tohatsu 90. Avoiding older Evinrudes/Johnson - Probably can't afford a new(er) Etec. Staying away from Mercury; they seem the heaviest.

We're not in a huge rush as the friend that I bought it with and I both have alternative ways to get out and enjoy the water.
