Stand out in a crowded anchorage

The attached photo shows a Tornado RIB which we were asked to fit with new tubes.

Apparently the owner who uses the boat for diving, and is quite often in an area where there are a lot of other dive boats around, has difficulty when surfacing from a dive in identifying his own boat.

Could start a whole new fashion.!!!

If I had a RIB in those colours I'd definitely want it re-tubed!

Intriguing?

Presumably you have to stick three bits of different coloured fabric together? What does this do for tube strength?

I sympathise with your customers problem. I have coxn'd for diver friends and whilst bobbing around with other ribs on a popular dive site have had two divers surface nearby look at us expectantly and then confusedly as they realise we are not the RIB they are looking for!

Tube construction in multi colours

Constructing the tube in different colours will not effect the strength. The tube is constructed as a sectional type(also sometimes refered to as a "Stove Pipe design") , with circumference seam tapes spaced at intervals. In other words the sections are dictated by the width of the fabric from the roll.
