River Dee. Interestingly, patrol boat came past and waved. Didn't seem interested whether I had a licence. Perhaps just thought we (the boat!) really were too small to warrant one. Good news though.

I know it well! How far up river did you go? I remembering to be a really tranquil stretch

Where do you buy a day licence from these days?

Yep, Sandy lane to the wier is beautiful meadows one side and awesome houses to nose at on the right, then at the end are The Groves with ice cream, pubs, cafe etc

Upstream from Sandy Lane is the sailing club and Red House Pub, then it is very beautiful cheshire meadows and really tranquil for miles, up to eccleston and the Grosvenor estate, then the big Iron Bridge. From there it gets smaller and smaller. A great day out though.

As for the licence, just google it. But if you behave and have not been caught before, you can just say sorry i didn't realise and they leave you be. Speed and they will bollock you and throw you off.
