Stingray

Anyone have any experience or knowledge of the Stingray predator 5.4m.catamaran rib.I believe they are built in South Africa. The one I am looking at is fitted with twin 60 2/ Mariners.

Thanks

David.

Hello David

I am very familiar with Stingray Marine - They are one of the largest boat builders in South Africa,(based in Cape Town-my home town) in fact they build craft for the South African Defence Force. Their range of Ribs are very basic, nothing wrong with them - range is, I believe from 4m to 9m. They do have a very good reputation, which I think is important to know. The big plus is of course the current exchange rate, where you could potentially import one into the UK at a fraction of the cost of a similar size craft. If you are interested in cat ribs you should seriously consider the Hysucat. The foil technology is something the predator cannot compete with. PM me if you want to know more.

Cheers - hope this helps.

Hiya Keith. Might be a possibility. I've always liked the catamaran ribs and one is coming up for sale shortly in Wales. It is a bit beamier than the Avon and probably more stable for fishing and I've always wanted a boat with two engines of the same size.

Would you like the Yamaha for Quicksilver? Orkneys in four minutes!

P.S.You got my rank wrong. Dudley is an earldom!

Maybe but 'Duke of Dudley' sounds better!

Does anyone know of a link to a picture of one of these 'catamaran' RIBs?
