STOLEN predator 5.4 rib with suzuki DF90
Hi
just to inform that my RIB "TINY DANCER" was stolen from driveway Titchfield last night, any sightings or information please let me or Hampshire police know.
I am totally gutted as it has been kept on my driveway for 4 years with no bother.

Gutted for you! I keep mine on my drive too.
Have you put it on StolenBoats.org.uk :: Free directory of Stolen Boats :: Boat Insurance :: Marine Security It's linked to the Police Operation Kraken, with lots of police forces and insurers linked to it.
I hope you get it back.

Check the 'old' Wanted ads in your area. It could have been stolen in order to supply.
Check the new For Sale ads.
Sometimes criminals stupidity is their own undoing.

Bloody Scum!
Very worrying for me as I keep my RIB at home and live near Titchfield too. Do you have a gut feeling as to whether these scum might have been local opportunists or professionals?
Any information you can give us about how they got around your security measures, might help others defend against getting theirs nicked?
I'll keep an eye out but pretty sure they'll be miles away by now. I must say I'm feeling pretty vulnerable!

Yeah, I'm only 12 ish miles away and keep mine on the drive too.
Obviously we'll all keep our eyes peeled in case it's been taken by a "dumb" local thief who keeps it or tries to sell it local, but there's every chance it's been taken to order by a "higher class" of thief. Either way they are low-life scumbags who've taken someone's pride and joy!

I have reposted with some more details in the Stolen ribs section, was a bit stressed this morning (still am) and wanted to get the info out quickly. Once again replies and comments appreciated.
This was one expensive lapse for me as I religiously have the wheel clamp and hitch lock in place, and the boat is usually parked up with the hitch into the garden and away from the gate. last night after doing a lot of running around and the boat being in the water a couple of times, the security items were still in my vehicle, the boat was reversed into the drive, so I am totally stuffed insurance wise. I was not prepared to lie to the police this morning when giving my statement.
And yes a couple of you guys helped me recover the boat down at Warsash slipway last weekend.
What make this situation even more frustrating is the boat was being sold and deposit had been paid and pick up was Saturday.

Discreetly check that the 'buyer' didn't collect it early.

Ahh man! I really feel sorry for you! As a sale was agreed and deposit made, it would do any harm to start your search with the potential buyers. Did you have your RIB advertised, how many other people came to view? Could be someone that viewed the RIB earlier?

Really sorry to hear that. I will print picture and keep in my car just in case. Any other distinguishing things about it. Domyou have any serial numbers.
A few other comments.
I reckon thieves may hang out at slipways and then follow people home to steal it later so be aware people. Look out for anyone following you from slipways, perhaps go a roundabout way home which isnt obvious so you can see if anyone following.
Best locks in the world are not much of a problem for thieves perhaps think about a cctv camera. When i was doing lots of work on my boat recently and it was on my drive i fixed a cctv camera that was motion sensitive and would record , justbfor added security.
Datatagging helps also.
As to the police dont get me started, i regularly see cars with boats on trailers with no number plate on the trailer light bar or non matching plates. Even seen a cop car go past and they never seemed to get stopped.
Will keep a look out for you.

I really feel for you mate.
I will keep a look out on Friday Ad, ebay, Loot, etc for clues.
I have you found any cctv capturing the the theft?
I keep my boat about 2-3 miles from you. Last weekend i made the 85 mile journey to the boat only to realise i left my wheelclamp key at home. Not prepared to have a wasted trip i took my cordless drill out and decided try drilling out one of the pivot pins on the clamp. It took me no more than 20 seconds of drilling. Totally shocked. I was expecting to have a fight as it wasn't the cheapest clamp.
I'm so happy i have a hidden GPS tracker installed, but will be investing in a better clamp me thinks.

I had wondered why the security light, which 300 watts did not come on tonight, closer inspection revealed the cable has been cut.
