If it doesn't there is a shell garage 50 yards from the main port gate, so take a small trolley.

Jono I live just up the road from Stranraer and I do not think it has fuel but pete is right there is a garage on the main road just opposite the main gates to the harbour.
Where are you heading for as you have to go 6 miles to the foot of Loch Ryan it is a bit out your way depending on where you are heading?

Should be a good trip, about 200 miles by sea one way according to Google Earth. Think Bangor in NI has Petrol and it's not that far off your route. F6 in the north channel this weekend though, that won't be pleasant when the tide changes.

Let us know how you find Stranraer Marina Jono. Planning a trip, Fleetwood-I.O.M-Bangor-Stranraer staying a day or two in each.
We'll need to fuel up at Stranraer for the return slog back to Fleetwood. Just hope Red deisel doesn't go up anymore.

Hi Jono glad your not going thie w/end!!
Fuel at PP is just up from harbour on the left of main st but as with Stranraer you willl need a trolley as it is half mile away. If you have never been to PP it is a lovely little place with plenty of eating places try and pick a good Sat/Sunday as you will be in the harbour with some boats that usually come over from N Ireland for lunch. have a nice cruise and be safe.

Hi the Marina doesnt have petrol but does have a diesal tank. Not up and running as yet but Harbour Master can arrange for diesal if not enough to bring a lorry down to deliver.

PortPatrick petrol station is not always open but the harbour is well sheltered and there is good food in the Crown. The Mull is an interesting area to visit and it has an interesting 'run off' when the tide is in full retreat with one or two swirly bits and they can get rough at times but interesting to shoot over! If there is a strong run off stick close to the cliffs and you will get round without any problem. Visit the Scares as well as you cross Luce Bay entrance (about 8 miles from the Mull going south) and you will see a great gannet colony, seals and even the odd shag on a rock!
