Summer in Devon
Just love summer in Devon
What timing for a week on the water. Plans for beach picnics, cove hopping & some longer cruises quickly faded.
Still, managed 3 shortish runs, had a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins play round the boat. Got some heavy weather heming practice in on Thursday running back from Dartmouth to Brixham - absolutely nothing else out apart from 1 fishing boat pulling in pots.
Have another few days off the end of the month, it will be sunny & calm then

Thanks for that we came beck yesterday!
It was looking good on the webcam yesterday too, but the wind howling around the marina made putting the cover back on a challenge.
The sea state was pretty rough too out side the harbour- difficult to see the westerly waves from the webcam, and Breakwater Beach is well protected.
It is a good webcam- I can check on the boat from it when swings round to the right angle.

Ahh sorry... misread it as you having a few more days there.
We have Brixham on the 2020 shortlist with a view of taking a flat just up the rise from the lifeboat and keeping the Aerotec in the marina.
I was last on the water there as a teen in the 70s with a Dell Quay Dory and Volvo Penta outboard.

It has been pretty terrible Powerboating weather since the back end of July, Jetstream forecast is not looking great for the next week or so either.

Salcombe was really nice today ...... sunshine, 21c , and just the odd shower late this afternoon. Plenty of ribs out anchored off EP beach......., it was also mighty busy in the town.
There is a new property listing for you on the waterfront ....... A cool £4m with is own mooring frontage....

Yeah, looked at it....no good
Only water not champers flows from the taps - and not chilled parking won't take the Range Rover and the the Aston, and the au pair has to have a room in the main building not an annex...simply not good enough

Well, I had been toying with the idea of spending some petty cash buying Drake's Island and turning it into a small weekend retreat

I am pretty sure the guy who just bought it (Drakes Island) won't have any trouble with planning!

Boat going in on Friday and leaving on the visitor pontoon Torquay until sundae or Monday - depends on weather.
I'm marshaling the Cowes - Torquay sunday morning, so have sunday afternoon free and most of saturday unless I go blow some bubbles Saturday morning before running to the barge.
