Surveyor

Afternoon all!

Further to my last thread (RIB Identification), I wonder if anyone could recommend a good marine surveyor in the South London/South East area?

We have been having 'trouble' with our initial surveyor, so we may have to engage another one to get the required outcome (i.e. a rubber stamp). The current one does not appear to be happy with the research carried out by me (aka Pete7), therefore it seems unlikely that we will get the stamp.

Any recommendations welcome, as long as the surveyor is sound, and cheap! (we're a school)

Thanking you!

I think it will become harder and harder to get a surveyor to touch RIBs after what happened - I can't help wondering if that court case was really a good thing.............

And not only RIBs - there have been a few cases of other boats not matching their CE marks despite coming from volume manaufacturers. A surveyor could leave himself wide open after that case. If it doubt leave well alone will be their new motto.

Hamble based surveyor

I have used these guys and they are RIB friendly but you would need to talk prices with them and not sure if they are near enough to you , ask for Duncan Saunders

As C2 Ribs has said, have a chat with Duncan. He is a member on here (Searider) and correctly identified the Tornado first so he does know what he is talking about.

We have used Duncan for two surveys now and very happy with his findings on both occasions

Thank you all!

Dare I say it, hopefully the chap won't be needed, but should we hit Hadrian then he seems to be the man to call on.
