that is cheap for a suspension seat but it still looks overpriced-they all do to be fair IMO.

it doesn't look like a good design to me, looks like you would be falling forwards a lot.....happy to be wrong though!

no I think your not far off the way the geometry is ,scot seat etc looks like a parallelogram type linkage to keep the seat at the correct angle

i agree with the geometry not looking right it hinges at the back so forward and backward movement but i fail to see how the up & downward forces are supressed since the rear legs are fixed, on my coastal pro seats they traveled back as well as down giving around 125mm of travel if i remember right

Look like they were designed to go on a Ribeye

I'm struggling to see how that would meet any shock mitigation standard. Your back is in line with the rigidly attached part and your legs would be fighting against the shock absorber particularly as you would be pitched forward every time you encountered some deceleration.
The mountain bike community have some clever geometries for mitigating shock. I'm trying to get my head around the idea of a torsion bar rather than a spring.

Not sure what you mean PD?....
Like your Ribs might exit through you're eye sockets in the Rough!??...
...or maybe the seat!?
Certainly doesn't look very strong or "capable" to me...compared to The Big two..(16 stones pluss making passage in a Gale puts plenty of stress on stuff!)
but then again a lot of what some people put to Sea in these days doesn't!

looking at the picture these seats require airbags on the console.
to minimize shock of the striking head ...

Has anyone actually tried these seats?
The seats look good, as to their performance I do not know,

humber has been making boats for 50 years dought they would risk a duff design of a shock seat.
if you look at the design of the coastal pro its just a sizzor frame dampered, direction of travel down & back & they work well.
maybe the humber damper works in both directions along with the coil spring
sent humber a mail see what comes back

Rib mag had a feature that included them several years ago. Paul lemmar said something along the lines of being surprised how good they were

Didn't Paul end up with a serious spinal injury as a result of suspension seat testing?
