Hi Paul i am not convinced Suzuki is the easiest to achieve this ,i reckon you may be better buying a suzuki Multigauge (£500 but will show all fuel info ) and you can then add a garmin starter nmea2000 kit and you should be sorted ...........tis further answers to be got as i have achieved this on honda with only engine lead and garmin nmea2000 starter kit ,and even linked yamaha gauges to G.S.K to display all on garmins ,however past posts on here from suzuki owners always seem to suggest there is an interface needed ??

Does your Garmin have NMEA2K? Mine looked like it did in the manual but it was actually NM0183. Different connector, different protocol.

I had the earlier engine and managed to get hold of a discontinued Lowrance Suzuki interface, you will need the current one (v3.5) as sold by Suzuki and set up a 2K network. Fairly simple.

(If you did go the SMG4 route, one currently on Ebay from Poland, then you don't need a programmable interface at all, just the correct dumb cable.)

Much info as a sticky post on the Suzuki Outboard Forum.

They’ll be other better qualified voices on here but If you want to share information between things you need a network. You’d need to add a NMEA 2000 starter kit and power it. Then compatible devices you connect to that will share information. Engine/ sounder/ fuel sensor etc to plotter. You could get a Suzuki engine interface kit and link to network to share engine info. How easy that’ll be will depend on you boat layout, wiring, etc. if it’s just fuel you want consider the Garmin flow meter(pretty sure you’ll still need to fit a NMEA spine). Will depend what it’s worth to you!

You wont have this above until your done(pic is basically garmin starter kit £90ish ,1 loose end shown will be a power supply and the end with the plug will plug to a 5 pin socket on your garmin ,
The missing part and question is ........the engine lead from under the cowl to the tee pieces ,honda is a straight wire without any interface and works fine.
Question is does suzuki work the same and what is the part number for the NMEA2000 engine cable

I think this one which I happen to have for sale needs checked though. Also needs extended from engine to backbone(I think).

Here is what you need

For that engine you will need the correct Suzuki Engine interface with correct firmware for the year of your outboard. I got mine from USA and cost around $150 then you need nmea2k starter kit then you need extension cable from the engine diagnostic port to the Suzuki engine interface. I made my own. And obviously you need a chart plotter with nmea2k capability. My Garmin shows all that I require from the engine but fuel flow rate is slightly out. Farming shows trim, rpm, voltage, temperature, gears (only towards and neutral when in reverse still shows forward instead of reverse)
