Swapping LR Defender for Pacific 22

Hi,
Having moved right next to the sea and being able to haul a RIB right into the garden I am thinking of getting a nice RIB to play on the sea lochs. This means I will have little use for my Land Rover ( I guess the PAC 22 is the marine version)

I am looking to swap my 54 plate DEFENDER 110 for a Good example of a PAC 22. The Landry has around 55,000 miles on it. The entire drivetrain from the back of the gearbox has been upgraded to Ashcroft with air locking differentials front and back, it sits on Blindo military wheels, it has a full roll cage, Hannibal roof rack and side awning, 120 litre extended range fuel tank, 100 litre auxiliary fuel tank, 100 litre water tank with full filtration system and drinking water tap in the rear. It has Erbespacher heating fitted, drawer systems etc et. The list goes on. It is black with tinted windows.

Any interest?

I am envious of your move.

I'm not sure of what your LR is worth - £15k to £20k?

The early P22's with sterndrives and Mermaid engines tend to start at around £10k and the later ones with jet drives and Yanmar engines seem to be at £30k.

Price won't necessarily be an indication of condition - the previous users may not have had much mechanical sympathy and there won't be many that have led a cossetted life.

I think I'm probably trying to defend Pac 22's - if you buy one, it may need additional work due to its previous life.

Unless you are set on a Pac 22, which I would entirely understand, there is quite a nice looking 6.5m Redbay with an inboard diesel on the Redbay website at the moment.

Good luck with your search.

Schoolhouse,

Whereabouts are you in Scotland? West coast by the sounds of it?

Well you certainly are in prime situ. As a Rothesay boy I'm jealous of all that lovely cruising you have on your doorstep. Don't waste the opportunity.
Cheers

Defenders are fetching top money at the moment, I'd sell the motor then look for a rib, I think you'll get a better boat that way

I bought a Garmin 276c with the road mapping for my 110 because it was waterproof, still using it on the Searider with the chart software
