Telescopic White Nav-light is stuck

Hi all, Having a bit of trouble with our nav light which is one of those manual retractable telescopic things. It worked fine last season however over the winter it has managed to become stuck and won't extend, so far I have tried squirting oil in and then using a screw-driver to try and get a bit of leverage however it still didn't budge.
Anyone have any other ideas short of taking it all apart?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

You could try Plusgas Formula "A" Dismantling Lubricant (Halfords or the like) I find it works better than WD at releasing semi rusted things.

RIBase
Or 'corrosion block spray'. It gets in anywhere, juts give it a pump, leave it a week and it should come up fairly easily.
