Thames Boat Licensing / Abingdon slip

Couple of questions:

Has anyone put a rib in at the Abingdon slip before? do you have to pay the marina to use it, or is it public?

Once in, do you still have to pay the environment agency fee if you only travel that stretch of water? - between locks? - If you have to pay, can you put the boat in and travel to the nearest lock to then get a day license?

cheers

chris

Hi

Yes, it is supposed to be public, there was nobody at the marina when we launched (2 years ago). You do need a licence to use the river thames, i cannot remember if they do day tickets, but you could check the web site
