Thank You Rib net, Bogi & Cookee

As some of you may know I have had fitted a 150 Opti max to the boat!
It did not go too smoothly as then it was set up it needed a new air temp censer! Could I get one in time B4 I went on holiday no
But after a plead on rib net for help Bogi comes up trumps has the part in stock will send it over!
But I will be in salcombe so where to send it to? A call to Cookee & yes no problem send it to him at Banana Shark! so posted Friday picked up Monday from Cookee + he made time to show me around the work shop & the Race boat
Tuesday after a bit of name dropping thanks to Cookee again had the part fitted by blue water marine & out on the water
So a big thank you to all involved, just shows what a wonderfully thing the Tinter net is

PS. my pocket rocket scares the hell out of me now
45 knots (50+ mph) 35 knots push the throttle & you get a kick up the back side & the noise
Love it
Nick

Know exactly how you feel!! I love that change in engine note as you nail it!

What prop are you running and what revs do you pull at WOT?

You'll have many happy days with her on the back!!

Went for Laser II 19" & pulling 5500 at WOT!

I have still to get no. 5 injector replaced as it is coming up as a fault, so will have to see if this makes any difference?

I have to say the 150 Optimax is really a delight. I just put in a new 'gold' throttle cable and it is so smooth. Out in chop on Solent yesterday I was reaqlly swinging the throttle back and forth - until we got west of Cowes and started to wave hop at 38k......

Glad to hear that you are happy with the engine, 45 knots sounds 2-3 knots to less, we have 2 boats here that has almost same layout as you and the one with merc opti 150 does 47,5 knots and the one with yam 150 VMAX does 49 knots on GPS at 5,600 revs.
Is the hull clean, do you have a drainplug on the transom so you dont have water in the hull etc etc.

Hi some water in the hull, not too much!
I do have keel gard fitted so this may make the difference!

With clean hull, half tank, two people, we can do 48.7 on the GPS. We are a 6.5m but a fairly 'fast' hull.
