That was a long day...
Just got home after a 6 hour drive back from Kent to W Yorkshire with my new (to me) RIB. Now I'm BUSTING to play with it.
Many thanks to Woody73 for driving all around Kent this morning looking for somewhere to sea trial it!

The thing is... I need to decide if I'm renaming the boat. What's the ribnet feeling about renaming?

There has been discussion about this .. it depends on how superstitious you are .. personally .. I'd keep it unless I could justify the change because
a: I hated the original
b: It means something I didnt like or had connotations about my kin
I'm not religeous .. but an old sea dog, with generations behind me .. trawlermen and all sorts
What is the name ?

Dunstable Diver. It's not that bad really. I'll leave it.

Its not a great one is it ? .. You could knock the first D off and have Unstable Diver .. or another technique is use a an internet anagram solver and use all the original letters
which gives amongst others
Bland Servitude
Burdened Vitals
Unlisted Adverb
Disturbed Navel
NO great boat names either but have fun
Ive used this method .. using some old Island names in my local area I've known for years, to come up with some of my best boat names .. for instance.. an Island Ive stared at, since I was a boy called Priest Island was the name of my last boat and an anagram of which was Intrepid Lass and a fine craft she was .. kept me safe

Re the rename thing. I'm not normally supersticious, but (do a search for the "how to rename a boat" thread)
I killed 2 engines then whilst on the rebuild found that the previous owner had written the name on the underside of the removable seat cusion base, and a re- upholster had covered it!
One attack with a bit of sandpaper, fresh coat of paint & so far so good..... :can we have a ghostbusters smiley?:

River Ouse, (launch at Boshopthorpe) is a good day out with lunch in York. You can't go fast but it allows you to try all systems and run a tank of fuel through the engine. Hornsea is great during spring/summer. Only thing is you have to beach for recovery. Keel band going on mine this year.

Are you sure its an Attaque, it looks very shallow V.
To me from the admittedly poor angle of the pic it looks more like my old Assault which is a very different beast.........

Yeah, that pic is at a poor angle. This one is of her in her new home:
which, if you compare it to this one from Humber's own site:
looks pretty similar. Though admittedly the V looks a little shallower on mine.
The assault has a funny sort of turned down bow. I stand to be corrected though. Both her previous owners refered to her as an Attaque.

Spent long enough under it scraping antifoul off to be sure...
