I find it easier to email people telling them what I'm after and await a reply, this way in theory you should get a few emails in which you can compare prices.
Saying that if all manufacturers listed prices on their site it would save alot of time.

I've spoke to and emailed all the people apart from Redbay is this thread and all were very helpful.

Hi,

I have had some decent replies, too, including some of those mentioned on this thread, and some not mentioned: e.g. XS ribs.

The problem in some cases is that you ask for a quote or a price list, and you get one. Then, when you ask for a quote on a specific model you often find that this differs greatly from the published list price, although you have chosen the model based on what you saw in the price list (perhaps with a couple of modifications or options). You ask why and start getting into complex explanations, like: oh, that list is still last years, or different moulding work is required on the model you want, which is different from the model on the price list (which we don't make any more), and so on. Not always convincing replies.

In that case, the fault is in the price list. If they go to the trouble of producing one, they should make it accurate.

Hmm.

That's what I expected when I wrote asking for one. Doesn't always work out like that, tho. Unfortunately.

The

heading for the thread was "The All New Ribquest", but due to OP's peculiar behaviour in praising the Ribquest and buying a Redbay, a discussion seems to have taken place re. these two. His reason for buying the Redbay was because it was an RCD cat. B, and also because other companies (namely Ballistic) did not reply to e-mails. All of this led us to talk of other companies who did not answer e-mails or wouldn't give correct info so that you can buy your rib quickly and cleanly. And here we are. Klar?
