Sex, Degenerate Behaviour & Rock 'N' Roll
Hi Everyone,
By the previous thread I hope I have got your attention and for all the Ladies & Gentlemen No offence is ever intended nor implied
This is at the express wishes of Alan P & the Crew of "The Jolly Sailor". As you are all probably aware the Team are due back in Portsmouth on Saturday August 9th.
I have been asked to help organise a Homecoming Party for the team and help celebrate what I am sure will be a major achievement by both men & machine.
The idea is that on Saturday the 9th as many Ribsters as possible meet the "Jolly Sailor" & her crew and escort her back into Portsmouth Harbour.
The Boat would then be lifted from the water and towed by the Portsmouth Field Gun Crew through the streets of Southsea back to the Jolly Sailor Pub where the celebrations are being held.
As part of the procession monies will also be collected from the public to present to the "Make-A-Wish Foundation", a charity for terminally ill children.
Our very own John "Pyromaniac" Kennett, will be providing an excellent display of his skills & large volumes of Wine, Woman & Song, will take us through to the wee small hours and Beer of Course. Not that Ribsters needs an excuse to drink & party.
So, I am asking all of you personally, & on behalf of Alan & the Team to come along and join us on the day; whether by boat or on foot, for a tremendous day of fun & merryment.
As there are certain logistical elements to this event, I would be very greatful if those of you who intend comming by water to let me know ASAP. Limitted space in the Camber Dock.
As the QHM Portsmouth is getting very nervous about a large number of Ribs entering his harbour & upsetting the sailing fraternity, God Forbid
As soon as I have more news I will post it on this thread ONLY so watch this space.
Should anyone wish to contact me for further details my Mobile No.07761 - 864043. or "E" mail kevin.luter@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
Regards
Kevin

Kevin,
I have a pre-arranged "date" for this event with Blue Ice's previous owner... Yes, we'll be coming by sea, please! We promise not to upset any yotties.
Richard.

We are coming for sure. Wiesia has the weekend off. I thought we were to meet up at the Needles and in a pack escort Alan to Portsmouth.
Has this plan now changed cos we were planning to stay in Yarmouth on Friday night

Just so you know, the firework display is subject to getting the necessary permission from the City Council. Sadly Kevin works for the wrong department, but we're working on it!

I'll be there in spirit (ie sat either in my room or in a pub) whilst drinking spirits!
No way I'd be able to make it, so have a good party, have a couple of drinks for me, and pass my congratulations onto the crew.

Oh well I'd better start riding down on my bike now then hadn't I?
Nah, seriously can't make it. Severe cash flow problems (there's a blockage somewhere further up the pipe from me, hence non is reaching me!), lack of transport, parents nagging blah blah blah.
Sooner I can find a job away from home, the better.

Hmmm... I'm sure that accommodation can be blagged, seat in boat can be arranged, all you gotta do is get yourself down to Portsmouth.

Homecomming Party
Wow,
What a response already Thank you guy's & please keep it comming .
Narked, NO EXCUSES, I am sure you could get here ![razz](https://www.rib.net/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif) I always used to nick my dads car!! not that I would encourage anything illegal
Crazyhorse if you "E" mail me I will let you have details of B&B, Some rooms are available at the Jolly Sailor Pub, First come First Served. I cannot think why you or Sue need a Ruler for!!! the mind boggles ![wink](https://www.rib.net/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif) Are you measuring Metres or Inches
As for Intinery on the day will have more details later, but idea is to R.V. with Alan & Crew out near the Needles and run back with him to Portsmouth Harbour to arrive approx 13:00hrs.
Cheers

Haven't got a full license anyway, only provisional, so that's 2 laws broken at least!
Keith, yeah, but not when they're struggling to pay the final payments for my sister's university education

Charles I am holidaying in Alderney from 2nd to 10th August.
My intention was to fly from Alderney to Bournemouth on the 9am flight arrive Bournemouth 9.45 am then rush down to either Poole and scrounge a lift to Old Harry rocks (near there) and then jump aboard Spirit and arrive in Portsmouth on Spirit (as title sponsor I have been given this privilege) or got to Southampton and catch a lift to Spirit by the Needles. Then catch the flight back to Alderney at 5pm but will need to get to Bournemouth from Portsmouth.
Otherwise I would have loved to come on your boat, was even thinking of taking mine if the weather was good but not a very good idea with pregnant wife and 3.5 yr old in tow.
Dom
