I think the claim was 93, so probably an honest 90. they were 300'X's (317 propshaft hp)

But hey, speed exageration amongst powerboaters is nowt noo.
Fair enough - to be honest I never looked at anyones GPS, but I was told 90 by a couple of people in the Gibralter days when there were a few 400hp RIBs .......... low 80's is a lot more realistic!

So, far the Greek participation is 1st. Weather as informed 6-7B SSW.
Tomorrow is the last part and the finish.
POINTS UP TO NOW:
G50 3000points TOP LINE -GREECE 1st
E77 2529points ROCO 2 - EGYPT
R12 2430points RIBALETA
R69 900points ZING A ZING
R44 0points BLADE RUNNER

Codprawn please i would like your opinion because yesterday while talking with some people they couldn't beleive WHY the english RIBS (SR9-BLADERUNNER etc) where broken!!!! I mean we hear here in Greece the English boats are this the English boats are that (cobra,scorpion,sr9-sr8) theese are the most famous in sellings) but now in Egypt those ribs took bottom!!!
Since those ribs are for the bad English seas and brake in Egypt then what is their reason? just to catch 60-70-80knots in calm lake waters??
Please with all due respect give me a reply.....
The egyptian boat is a italian capelli with yamaha 250!

For a start they are NOT English boats - they are BRITISH boats - the Cobras are made in Wales!!!

Without knowing what the conditions were like it is impossible to say. Also what broke and how? For example a hull hitting a rock at speed will break no matter what. or was it engine failiure? Give some example please!!!

Thats not good.

But given the boats your talking about I would be more suprised if it was Humbers, Deltas or Ribcrafts that had broken.
