Is the rally going to take place in Egypt again or it will involve other places also?

YES...PREPARE A RACE IN GREEK WATERS!!!
AFTER ALL IN ALL EVENTS THE NEXT EVENT IS IN WINNERS COUNTRY......
AND 2 "SIMPLE" RACES...ATHENS-THESSALONIKI VIA ANDROS AND RETURN
OR ATHENS CRETE VIA MILOS ISLAND AND RETURN....

The Race will be in October and in the Red Sea again.

would be great to organize a rally in Greece with all those islands we would have a big choice of routes.
your suggestion is not bad but i would make it more difficult.
If you have a look on the distances covered at red sea rib rally 2006 in rough seas and short waves be shure in greece we could offer a nice chalenge to the racers.

Aphro the Aegean can be interesting and for a 500 miles rally it can also be quite exciting. We have some ideas and when we meet up will have a chat about it for the future.

The 2007 race sounds very good. Red Sea again and the same or similar route will be an interesting challenge for offshore RIBs.

A suggestion though.

Keep the crossing from Sharm El Sheikh to El Gouna or Hurghada. The straights especially SSE of the military island can be very interesting and challenging at times

I can only speak for our team, we had a fantastic time, made some new friends and we will be back for the 2007 event.
After our first race (beating) - which we won (F3 & F4 combined) we unfortunately split our fuel tank, which stopped us from competing in the middle two races.
We had a tank made ! in two days, strapped it to the deck and made 3rd place in the last race.
Our thanks go to Rudy and his fantastic team for their outstanding achievement.
From a racing point of view for 2007, would it be possible to have a race day, then a lay day, this would give the teams chance to carry out any repairs to either RIB or body !

And what you see is nothing. He jumped 5 or 6 mtrs high on high trying to keep the fast pace of the rally in high seas according to Paul on heli2 videoing the rally and when he did that he lost the A-frame.

BTW .... does any one know if the rally will be shown on the TV, when and which channles?

This year we where more focused on the saftey and racers.
But defenetly the Rib Rally 2007 route will be more visible to spectators.

We will concentrate on 3 spots on land where boats will pass.
One will be Hurghada at Abu Mingar Chanel where spectators can view from Hill restaurants the racers.
There will be one lay day between each race day.
And you will have two races starting from one venue.

This year we made the most difficult routes with for venues.
There was a hell of logistics behind the rally.
Bringing spectators and crew members to all the venues ,chartering the ferry boat.But all went well with no delays and no complaints.

concerning Tv coverage .
Local tv is broadcasting on daily basis up to now the event.
Some chanels made a 4 programms each one presenting one leg.

Soon the 45min documentary will be released and broadcasted on eu chanels.
There must be some amazing shots from the helicopter.

please give us any suggestions for Rib Rally 2007

IMHO and knowing Egypt a little you succeeded to put together something that I do not think many (possibly none) can/could acheive. Congrats to all specially to Rudy who had this great idea

An idea that floated by while we were in Egypt and while Richard and I were talking about the event was that you may consider that in parallel with the main rally (during the rest duas may be?) to be able to arrange something as a Pocker Run event for families who also would be the spectators during the rally days. A less stressful and easier course than the rally course. If you could also provide the boats 8.5 mtrs single engine it may work well. Just an idea though.

IMHO the difficult parts of the course SHOULD NOT change. These parts make a disntiction and the difference of the boats and pilots/navigators from THE boats and THE pilots/navigators.

One more idea?

Would it be possible to have large screns in the hotels that spectators and crews will be staying showing LIVE the race from the helicopter?

Also crews would have to opportunity to see themselves while relaxing after the race (if a recording is made)

RED SEA RIB RALLY ON THE TV

On SKY SPORTS 1, 2 and 3 there will be an hour's episode of the RED SEA RIB RALLY 2006. Amongst other things you will be able to see SUPER shots of the boats racing taken by Paul Caddis on Heli 2, interviews with the many of the crews including Cookee
