The Pride of Britain Fundraiser Award 2015
I have only just heard of this and the deadline is by midnight 7 August
I am suggesting that Whisper should be nominated for this award for all his work and efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support.
His ITV region is West
This is the link Pride of Britain
And follow link to ITV Regions Fundraiser Award with ITV News
You have to put in some personal info about Alex so not to put that on an open forum best to send him a PM or email
I have this info now including some data so you can pm or email me
I have already spoken to Whisper and have informed him what I am doing.

The nomination has been sent
The text is as follows
Alex has encouraged the boating community to raise over £56,000.00 to fund a Macmillan Cancer SupportNurse for a year, he has led over 200 boats around the Isle of Wight, circumnavigated Britain and built a boat out of nothing but donated parts and took it to the Southampton Boat Show where it was auctioned raising over £20,500.00. The story behind this wonderful achievement is heartbreaking , brave and inspiring. A winner for sure.

Thanks Andre, I'm really touched by this. Especially as you did so much for the 999 Round Britain. I'm away tomorrow on the Alderney cruise and its Mrs W's first Channel crossing (parp!) so it will be the start or the end of our long distance cruising
If anyone wants my details then please contact either Andre or Bingosucks...
Thank you, you lot

Good point and it is an phrase not used on this site and not to mention on this side of the pond especially in this country.

Jambo I'm assuming that was a genuine question not a sneaky dig...
I think it refers to the Facebook thing ... Rigid hulled inflatable boats ... You know the boys from here who took their ball home when they got told off for being too rowdy in the sailing club bar analogy...

Yes we try not to mention the fb thing as everytime it kicks off, I think the dust has settled finally lol. we have had a very good year on rhibs and tbf post several links to ribnet, as both are great places imo. Whisper is an inspiration to all ribbers so I see no reason why both forum and group can't collaborate as in his words' it's all our story'

It looks like we have been selected from tens of thousands of applicants, ITV are going to make a film about our fundraising next week in southampton!
I think the film will be shown to a celebrity panel who will choose the regional finalist. We are the Southwest Region.
So I guess that we will be on TV soon...
Filming will be on either Monday or Tuesday next week and they want to interview some of you lot too.
Looks like I'll be off to Biffs to clean the workshop up a bit incase they want to film where the Macrib was built? I haven't spoken to ITV, Mrs W is doing all that.
All I can do is tell them what you lot did and how we did it.
If you know or were involved in our fundraising and want to be on TV then Please can you let me know.
Thanks
Alex
