Theiving scum bags!!

Getting the rib ready for the coming weekend away on the south coast.
Went to attach the trailer board.....and discovered it was no longer in the rib under the cover!
Why would some scum bag lift the cover and take only the t/board?

I suppose I should be gratefully it's only the t/board that got pinched, but it's still a load of hassle to get a new one and number plate made up!
I'm going to talk to the friendly local plod in case some one decided to use it on their trailer and drive through loads of cameras.

So much for a secure Marina storage yard!

Anyway rant over, feel better now!
Thanks for listening;-)

I take your comments onboard.
The boat is very secure, it's got wheel clamps on both wheels, plus a hitch lock. I'm sure there's other boats next to it that'd be easier to take!
Just bloody annoying!
Will also have a chat with the Marina about their security ( it costs enough to keep the rib there!)

Another early finish from work to go shopping for trailer boards!

i before the e except after c

I went to a government approved school so I should know.

But I agree with the rest of the peeps, you are lucky it was just the trailer board, but just hope, that there is not an ulterior motive for why it was taken. Be vigilant.

Possibly not the board they wanted, more likely the No Plate!! so they could put it on the rear of a car and scam some fuel a number of filling stations have CCTV looking at the rear of the car!!
My advise is get it reported

The local rock pool inhabitants round here decided to try and nick some metal out of our yard.... Luckily the local plod was about and gave us some very good advice regarding the use of razor wire....

Hopefully should have plenty of dna tissue the next time the mudskippers "drop" into our compound.

Good point!Definately pay you to report it,and make it a matter of record.

I'd gladly 'donate' a trailer board to not have the rig touched. I'd call it a result and think about either storing the boat elsewhere or ramping up security.

I missed the start of a dinghy race one evening when I discovered some theiving <ahem> had borrowed my rudder & centreboard.

Having almost given up & gone to the bar I looked under the other lasers' covers that weren't out that night. Yep, they had been borrowed, but not put back. I askled the club committee bods to have a polite word in their ear & "Le Mans started" 10 minutes down.....

Where this story is going is have any of your neighbours at the marina taken their boats on holiday? If there is a boat & trailer missing and your cover was replaced the way you left it that may explain security not noticing......

I thought that too, sounds certain that it's somebody within the Marina who knew it was there, perhaps borrowing it. The local rag would have took it and left the cover off

Worth asking if anybody else has lost anything. If not I very much doubt it was anybody outside as it's hardly worth taking is it, I'd have thought they'd have kept looking in others until something better came up ? If others have lost stuff too then it's at the next boat jumble!
